About Us

Emma Clarke has been working with dogs for the past eight years. This work with dogs inspired her to study Companion Animal Behavior at the University of Southampton. She is a graduate of the University of Sussex, with a degree in Neuroscience. Emma has two dogs, with varying degrees of behavioral issues. She is excited to be back in the Bay Area and sharing her knowledge and passion for all animals.

Lisa Gunter, CPDT-KA, has worked with dogs and cats at animal shelters and with owners for over seven years. She attended the Canine Behavior Academy at Marin Humane Society in 2006 and received her certification from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers in 2007. During her career Lisa has supervised the dog program at Pets Unlimited and managed the shelter behavior departments at the Dumb Friends League in Denver, CO and Animal Humane in Albuquerque, NM. She is happy to be back in the Bay Area with her reforming fearful dog, Sweetie.

Denise Hill first started working with dogs in Alaska, taking care of 150+ sled dogs and mushing them on mountain trails during the tourist season. Instantly hooked on ‘dog energy,’ she did some dog-powered travel with Iditarod competitors. In the urban context, she has worked for dog daycare facilities, done some grooming, tossed a lot of sticks, and generally tried to completely wear dogs out by the end of the day.

Denise is an EMT, so just by being around her, your life expectancy goes up. She can wiggle her ears, crush you at Scrabble, and has never broken a bone or had a cavity. Children trust her.

Stacey Campbell is a graduate of the prestigious San Francisco Academy for Dog Trainers, from where she also earned a training certificate in dog-dog aggression. Stacey now works at the SF SPCA as a dog trainer teaching classes, counseling adopters, rehabilitating dogs, and evaluating shelter dogs for adoption. She developed and currently teaches the Growly Dog class series with Kim Moeller, the SF SPCA’s Dog-Dog Socialization & Rehabilitation expert. In addition, Stacey runs her own dog training business, Go Fetch Dog Training.

Stacey’s family consists of two dogs and a cat. Stacey and her high-energy husky mix Roo! compete in obedience and Rally-O, and are preparing to enter their first agility match.

Andy Appleton started working with many animals in Texas from a young age. From birds to snakes to rodents and dogs, Andy loves them all. His parents foster dogs for the Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas, and following the family tradition, he fosters dogs for Grateful Dogs Rescue as well as Rocket Dog Rescue. Andy has been working professionally with dogs for just under a year in doggy daycare, and is a graduate of the dogTEC Dog Walking Program.

Lauryn Varnum has been a dog lover her entire life. She was brought up on a farm and decided to make an impact on people’s relationships with animals after falling in love for the first time with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Koda. All 150 lbs of his bounding energy and love made her realize how much she wanted to help and work with animals. She moved to San Francisco three years ago in order to attend San Francisco State University. Since graduating Lauryn has worked as a dog trainer and now as a dog walker. She can train your dog to sit, stay, roll over, and whip up a fabulous sweater set for your new puppy. Currently her time is split between her job and making sure her newest family addition, a one and a half year old Daschund mix, Jack, gets along with her three year old Albino Leopard Gecko, Ziggy.
