Enrollment
Once you have completed our registration form and payment is received, you will be provided with a confirmation email and a reminder email one day before the start of a course or workshop. Payment must be received in full at the time of registration.
Unaltered Animals
Friendly dogs - spayed, neutered or otherwise - are eligible to register for all courses and workshops, except for Difficult Dog: all dogs attending courses for difficult dogs must have been spayed/neutered before they attend. If your dog is in season at the beginning of a course or class, or if she goes into season during a set of classes or a course, you must leave her at home for the duration of her season, no refunds will be given.
Vaccinations
You will need to present proof of required vaccinations in order to participate. Please bring this to your first day of class or workshop. For any puppy training, proof of 2 rounds of DHLPP vaccinations is required. For all other courses or workshops, proof of a current rabies vaccination is needed.
The First Class
The first class of Cautious Canine is a human-only orientation. Please do not bring your dog. For all other courses, please bring your dog to the first class. For the first class, please bring your dog with:
• A four-to-six-foot leash. No retractable or flexi-leashes.
• A flat or martingale collar, harness or head halter. No choke or prong collars.
• Plastic or poop bags to clean-up after your dog during class.
• Plenty of your dog's favorite soft treats (hot dogs, cheese, etc.) for training.
Attendance
Attendance at the first class of a course is required. Please note: if you do not make prior arrangements and miss the first class, you will not be able to attend the remaining classes and a refund will not be issued. If you miss any other class during a course, you are welcome to contact the trainer via email to discuss the topics covered; but unfortunately, make-up classes are not available. If you are interested in joining a course after the start date, you may be able to join the course at the trainer's discretion. Please contact us via email at pawsitivetails@gmail.com to inquire about availability.
Refunds
Full refunds can be provided if we are notified at least 7 days before the start of the course or workshop. For courses only, if a dog is unable to attend during the first two classes, you may receive a 50% credit toward a future course (good for one year, non-transferable). Unfortunately, no credit or refund can be provided after the first two classes of a course. There is a $15 fee for all returned checks.
Cancellations
If the minimum enrollment for a course or workshop is not met 3 days prior to the start of a course or workshop, it will be cancelled. We will then notify you by phone or email to offer enrollment in an alternate course or workshop, receive credit toward a future course or workshop or receive a full refund.
Children in Class
All family members are encouraged to attend group classes. In the interest of safety for all humans and canines, please follow these guidelines:
• Children must be under parental control at all times. Unless a child is training the family dog, he/she must remain seated during class.
• Parents must supervise their children during the entire class with children under 10 having another adult supervising them.
• No running or yelling will be permitted.
• All dogs are not comfortable or friendly with children. Children should not approach or pet other dogs in class other than their own dogs.
• Children are not allowed to attend Cautious Canine or Difficult Dog courses.
Declines & Referrals
In the interest of safety for all humans and canines, we reserve the right to deny any dog who presents behavior issues that may be overly dangerous, disruptive or may be exacerbated by participation in a traditional course. If behavior issues are discovered during a course and a particular enrollment is found to be inappropriate, you will be transferred to our Cautious Canine or Difficult Dog if possible or referred to a private consultation and a full refund given. |
